TraceMySpace Shield

Let the vermin of the internet know that you know how to play the game and that they will lose!

MySpace members should not only take a protective approach to their privacy and security, but a PROACTIVE approach. Be a part of the TraceMySpace network and place the TraceMySpace Shield on your profile showing the predators of the Internet that you know the game and you are not one to be messed with. Be sure to pass this to your friends so they won't be messed with either!

TWO CHOICES:

1. You can place us as on of your top 8 friends so the shield can be seen by all--it will not glow in the friends box tough.

2. You can go below and cut and paste the code into your profile exactly where you want our shield to be shown and glowing!

Simply place the code below anywhere in "About Me" section and tweak
the TOP and LEFT pixels to position it exactly anywhere you want on
your profile to let online vermin know you are not to be messed with!

Myspace has hired Hemanshu Nigam to oversee safety, security and privacy issues on MySpace. MySpace made a good move doing so. But there are those who think MySpace isn't doing enough and need to do more than just providing safety tips on their site. MySpace also prohibits children under age 14 from using it and restricts access to the profiles of 14 and 15 year-olds, allowing them to be contacted only by users that they add to their buddy lists. MySpace also uses software to identify minors, flagging profiles with terms likely to be used by children under age 14. These measures dont seem to be enough for some. There have been those who suggest MySpace do the following and may be a clue to the things to come:

  • To integrate an age and identity verification system
  • Respond to all reports of inappropriate content within 24 hours
  • Place a "Report Inappropriate Content" link on Web pages
  • Increase the number of staff who review images and content
  • Filters to block sexually explicit or violent images
  • Deletion of profiles of people who have abused the site
  • Removal of all advertisements deemed inappropriate for children
