I created TraceMySpace.com with the intention of giving MySpace members easy access to resources and tools spread out over the Internet to be able to take not only a passive but active defense against the online deviants--predators, pedophiles or fiends--who frequent MySpace looking for victims. By adding TraceMySpace as a friend, the TraceMySpace shield will show up on members' friend list and will show online vermin that you are not one to be messed with. So in essence, hopefully, the shield wil act as a deterrent against would be offenders. People may say that we condone vigilantism, and in a way we do , but not in the bad sense of the word. The Latin root of the word, vigil, indicates that a vigilante is one who watches or is observant. Parents should be vigilant over their children's online use, MySpace members should be vigilant against online criminals. Not acting above the law, but with law enforcement. There are ways one can be a "vigilante" against online predators and that is by bringing them to justice. Robert Keddie |
